For some this may sound shocking and also sudden…it was a lot faster than we had anticipated simply because we thought it would be a longer process since we had moved and had to redo all our paperwork/home study, but God had it all in the works, so here we are. We actually found out about this baby through our favorite lawyer down in Florida- and the rest is history!
Of course, it’s still pretty nerve-wracking because our wonderful birth mama can change her mind any time. And we’ve recently walked with close friends through their pretty horrific events surrounding a failed adoption so the risk is very in our faces. However, we are still relying on our Father in heaven… who blessed us already with one amazing birth mom who gave us two incredible boys. We are praying for this new birth mom to feel blessed and supported through it all.
I had a chance to talk with her a week ago and she was the one who actually told me it was a girl. If I hadn’t been holding the phone I would have been jumping up and down ecstatic…but I didn’t want to scare her- so I remained as calm as possible while still conveying our huge excitement.
One cool fact I’ll leave you with…this baby girl is half Haitian/half African American just like Regan!!! How crazy cool is that? There are many other similarities but we’ll save those for later.
I gotta go…do the happy dance.
